Great to hear you're still around. I agree with you with you. My Model III had closer to 3 degrees, It flew great hands off, but the Rudder did not keep it straight.

The generator built into the 912 is only rated 18 amps. 30 amps is plenty of cushion. It is oversized to allow transient loads that would cause nuisance tripping.

It should be no problem to run that way. Rotax reccomends against running the engine at full throttle if less than 5200 rpm can be maintained (as in a climb).

Be sure to support the wings. Bouncing on the highway can bend the fuselage and tweak the frame at the attach points. Best is to remove the wings if you have far to travel or stiff suspension.

I had the same experiance. The loss of performance was too much, so I just run bare and fill with epoxy if I fly where the weeds are too high.
