To avoid lengthy clearance read-backs on an ATC frequency I get my clearance on the ground. The number is 888-766-8267 if no ground/clearance delivery frequency is available, like my non-towered airp ...

Good job, Dad. We know how proud you are.

Sorry, no photos. The installation is easy. Swap your mag for the unit and add a power source. Used same harness as the mag. Can use fine wire Tempest plugs or keep the heavy ones.

I have over 180 hours on the SureFly electronic ignitions and they have performed well. So well, I installed 2. (I have 2 independent electrical systems with 2 alternators and 2 batteries.)

This can be tricky and is dependent on a lot of other things, like autopilot, comms, GPS, ADS-B, and sensors, just to name a few. It is also dependent on your wiring, since there is some flexibility ...

I did the same as Patrick and it works well after 550 hours. The coverage needs to be fairly extensive. I also have a bolt-on heat shield where the exhaust pipe passes close to the cowl.

I installed one of their first units a little over a year ago in my RV-10 and have about 120 hours on it. It ran in parallel with a Slick m ...

While the battery still has amp-hours remaining during cranking, the voltage drops low enough that the EFIS will crash. On engine start you will want to see your engine monitor so reboots are a PITA. ...

You didn't mention if starting with the X-feed closed (both batteries) causes the EFIS to shut down. This is the main reason I keep the 2 Z-14 busses separated on startup. Like your experie ...
