I am quite interested in this topic as well. My problem is that I am
deathly afraid of asking anything of the FAA that might involve their
use of the word "no" as, once that word has been uttered, it is
virtually impossible to get them to use the word "yes" WRT the same topic.
So, how *does* one manage to use a CJ6A or Yak-52 for aerobatic training?
BTW, I looked in the idea of creating a club but was shot down on the
insurance front if there are more than 4 people in the "club".

You can apply to your FSDO to give a waiver that will allow instruction for
compensation for check out in type to licensed pilots. Aerobatics are part
of the flight manuals for Yaks and I presume CJ's and certainly for SU-29's.
Therefore a competent check out would include those aerobatics. First you
probably should be a flight instructor or recognized by your FSDO as one
competent to give check outs in that particular make and model.
