There is some concern over the mudway conditions, ooops, runway conditions,
at Stanton's. Any suggestions for Plan B? MTV has been suggested.
Thoughts?

Went to fly to MTV with Randy and 1/2 way to JQF on 85 it started snowing. Just as well because the new tail wheel fork needed some grinding to make things fit, so we took it back to Randy's warehouse and make the adjustments. It all looks great now and I will test it tomorrow.

Sorry MTV is out of my range. Also I looked out the window and saw the snow Glasgow mentioned.
Additionally the wind at Monroe was 12-20 mph and Charlotte was 14-21mph. I did the wife thing.

Oh Tad... it wasn't too bad for us taildragger types today! Even saw the
students doing lessons in the 152 today!

MTV.... Apparently the only ones to show up today were Ben Burril and Barry
Thigpen. Talk about a long flight for nothing..................

Oxymoron -

An oxymoron (noun) is a figure of speech that combines two normally
contradictory terms (as in `deafening silence', `military intelligence',
`long flight for nothing')

(Sorry, couldn't resist...)

Tried to make it down to meet you guys at Twin Lakes, but ran into about a
10 mile wide line of snow. We went around it and made 8A7 but apparently
missed you. (My flooding the engine delaying our departure didn't help.) We
went on to MTV and promptly got trapped under the ceiling and snow. It quite
after about 20 minutes and were able to leave. The restaurant was closed
anticipating snow. No way we could have made Stanton. Looked good until
about 20 miles out from Danville-- more snow. These snow showers were
everywhere! We needed to shoot the ILS to get into Danville. Amazing sight
all the snow from the bubble canopy; real illusion of speed-- or were we
really going that fast! (Interesting OAT was above freezing so no chance of
icing.)
Fun trip even if we didn't get to hook up with anyone.

Wayne

It was a comedy or errors this morning. Len called from INT to say that
your plane wouldn't start, but that's OK, because it snowing at INT anyway!
Tried to call you back to cancel, but you didn't pick up. Called DAN FBO,
"Yeah, he just took off". Great. Sent text messages, monitored handheld
radios, etc, but could reach you. Even considered trying to reach GSO appch
to try to radio you. Anyway, Len went home and I went to HKY via car to
visit family. Sorry. Sounds like a good adventure nontheless.

Wayne8A:

Sorry we missed you. Larry and I were on our handhelds trying to call you
on 122.85 and we were monitoring GSO approach too .... the weather in
Greensboro was great but not so around INT ... snow showers everywhere. About 12:30
.. we gave up trying to reach you ... figured you had turned around and gone
home. (Larry called Danville and they said you had taken off).

Next time !!
