Hi All:

(All 5 of you, that is. <grinning>)

Someone sent me this link on a guy who's gotten large gains in engine cooling and drag reduction.

http://www.n91cz.com/cooling/webCowlrep.htm

He has a dreaded Lancair, so, for those of us who know the history from 20+ years ago, we have to give the obligatory raspberry (much like Ohio State and Michigan). But maybe his work will transfer to us?

I'd be more willing to try these mods IF I knew they would work for us. Has anyone in a Glasair II already done them and reported similar results? Years ago, before the Internet, I had seen some Glasair I builders doing the plenum. You would think the Reno racers, like Mike Jones, would be doing this if it worked so well. (Maybe he has?)

Thanks,

Mike Palmer <><

Monte McClaine built a Glasair 2FT and used a plenum. His aircraft cruises 220 mph on a 200 hp Lyc./ MacCul prop
