Hey Guys,
Are we set for May 19th thru 21st at MV? As far as I'm concerned, those are good dates. Also, where are you tent guys gonna camp? If you're gonna camp in the Tent area, then I'd like to reserve RV spots close to that. On the other hand, if you're gonna camp up where Jim had his trailer, then I'd like to get close to that. Whaddaya think?

Are we set for May 19th thru 21st at MV?>>
Hi All and a Happy New Year.
Can anyone let me have info on MV. Apart from being spectacular and a long
way from anywhere else ....well...thats it.
What accomodation is there? Do I have to rent a trailer? What do you all do
apart from fly , early and late presumably, and talk.
That sounds OK by me if someone can find me a spare seat and get my feet
off the ground accasionally but it is Wendy`s vacation as well and just
driving around a desert in the heat looking at rocks is not going to appeal
to her for long.
Anyone point me in the right direction or maybe the Kolb fly-in later in
the year is a better bet?
Latest on my plane. She looks lovely, by the way. Permission to test fly
was requested last November. Officialdom sat on it for almost a month and
then returned the form as I had not signed it. Jumpin` Jehosophat! Returned
the form last Dec 5th. After several pokes from Kiwi Mick, who wants to
get my plane out of his hangar, a phone call yesterday elicited the promise
that the Permission will be granted today (Friday) so I may get it tomorrow.
I am not holding my breath. Bureaucracy!
The weather now is pretty poor so when testing actually takes place in the
lap of the gods.
So whats new?

Pat,
I/we could describe things but probably the best bet is to go to
www.gouldings.com and get it straight from them.

For anyone who gives a flip. I plan on being on my third MV outing. And for
all of you who have never been there. You are missing one of the great
wonders of the world, and reasonable.

Pat, take a look on my website, in the Monument Valley pages under
Traveling. Lots of pics there, showing the layout, as well as the
scenery...........
........which reminds me - I got so caught up in the magazine article on the
last MV trip that I forgot to build my own page. Just recently ran across
the pics I'd prepped for it. Lar. Do not

Vic you only have 1917.4 miles from KMLT to get there 6.1 miles more than I
would have from KBGR its 1911.3 Get your plane done then we will do some flying
I would love to go to MV fly-in but I need to sell the firestar and get into
a Mk3 Classic to make trips like that
Anyone willing to make a deal on a classic for me and take in trade a nice
firestar with skis wheels floats and trailer ready to go just add Pilot and
fuel
I am interested MK 3 classic in a fixer upper ,total wreck it dosent matter
to me I will probably rebuild it and make changes to it anyway

Pat, take a look on my website,>>
Hi Lar,
impressive lot of pics and a nicely connected commentary. What a lot of
talent there is among the Kolbers on the list.
Pity that I had not discovered the list, and you, when I came through Palm
Springs last year. I would have enjoyed a beer or two in your company. In
the event I had to make do with some good food and good jazz.
The stuff on MV is very enlightening. I have looked at the Goulding website
as well and it looks a great place to stay, and fly.
At the moment I am pretty much commited to getting a new house into livable
condition. As I have sold my exisiting place and the new owner has arranged
to move in on March 13th, I am running out of time.
If I have any money left by the time I move house I reckon I shall be due
for a holiday. Wendy definitely will. I only have the responsibility of
knocking down walls, replacing windows and doors but she as the wallpaper
and curtains stuff to do. Much more demanding.
MV looks very tempting but we have some friends from Florida planning to
come over and they want us to accompany them to Poland looking up their
roots. It looks as thouigh the times may clash. We shall see.
No Permission to test fly the Extra has arrived yet. I really thought it
might be here by today.
