Hello, I am new to the group, will be starting a
Kitfox 7 very soon. Any Kitfox builders in the central
California area? And, what engine does the Kitfox
builders recommend for the Kitfox 7? Thanks, Mike

Mike,
I don't live in California, but I am building a Model 7. As for the engine, I
think everyone has to make up their minds for themselves what will serve them
best. For the record, I chose the Rotax 912ULS, primarily because of the
weight, but also because of the fuel economy and fuel options (it works on 92
octane auto gas as well as 100LL aviation fuel). I also found that a 912
leaves a lot less of a noise footprint on the neighborhood than some other
engines - just an extra benefit if you fly around noise sensitive areas.

Hi Mike, Where in Central Calif are you? I am in Cameron Park, East of
Sacramento. I have been flying a Model IV since 1998. I think there are
builders in the area, one in Eldorado Hills comes to mind. I think he is
building a Series 5.
There are a number in the area that can be a resource for you.
Lowell

Hi, Mike, there is a 7 being built at Lincoln airport by Don Rhyne,
(916) 645-5517. I am not sure if he is a member of this list, but I
know he would be interested in talking to you about your project.
