I am ready to finish the tanks.
The manual calls for MEK to clean the scrubbed surface before applying the
sealing compound.
I have not been able to find MEK locally. Since Lacquer Thinners dissolve
the compound would it be OK to clean and prep?
The new stuff Van's send me is FlameMaster.
Ed.

Try Sherwin Williams - they keep MEK "behind the counter" for professional
use - at least in Vermont. It is a very aggressive solvent and easily
"cuts" the tank sealant. Anything else will be harder work. It's also good
for cleaning up dried primer over spray etc. Wear a paint mask and gloves,
make sure that the work area is VERY WELL VENTLATED and keep pets, kids and
spouses out.
