I'm hoping someone on this list can help me out. I'm building a Bushcaddy w/ a lyc O-235. I found out last night that my standard ACS nosebowl is not going to work on my plane becasue I have a Powerflow exhaust system. My nosebowl is basically a crescent shape on the bottom and due to the Powerflow's configuration a more rectangular nosebowl is required. The Powerflow system I have is the exact system Powerflow makes for the Spotrsman. I have seen some pretty good pics of the Sportsman cowl and am almost certain it will work for me. My plan would be to use the forward portion and cut off the rest, then use aluminum panels to mate that section to my firewall. What I'm looking for are some general dimensions: Side to side from the widest forward part, center to center of the air inlets, the diameter of the prop opening., a general height and width of one of the air inlets. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi Don,
Just an fyi, this list is for the low wing Glasair aircraft, not the
Sportsman. I'd try contacting Harry Delong at Glasair Aviation to see
if he might have the information you seek
(harry.delong(at)glasairaviation.com).

I happen to be building a Sportsman, but I haven't started anything FWF
yet so I am unable to give you the dimensions you request. If Harry is
unable to get the info you seek, I could cross-post to the members-only
Glastar/Sportman forum to see if someone might be able to measure this
for you.

DJ,

Thanks for the heads up on the list. I did talk to Harry and he was very helpful and gave me some builders in my area. I was able to see a Sportsman today and get dimensions and the Sportsman cowl will work for me...or at least the first 12" or so, which is all I'll need to get around my problem. Thanks!! Don.
