Hi all.  Just thought I'd break the silence with my unique window installation method.

I decided to have the windows easily removable for replacement when the time comes.

A 1/4" thick moulding is formed with fiberglass over the outside of window cutout.

I used packaging tape as mould release.

Rubber gasket applied to the back of the moulding.

Window is set with 3M auto glass adhesive.

Moulding is attached with 8/32 ss screws and ss acorn nuts.

Outside view.

I did basically the same thing, except I bonded the inner frame in. I can peel it out with a heat gun if I ever need to replace the window and then make a new frame pretty quickly.  I think the most time consuming part for both of us would be getting the old window out and cleaning off the 3M window adhesive.

I put some silver trim tape around the windows. I think it looks great and it saves the time of cleaning up the intersection of the window and fuselage skin.

Cheers,
Scott
