Alex,
I like 65 to 70 mph (56 to 61 knots) on base and final in my 582 Pulsar. By the way, did you weigh your new main gear? Would like to know if you did.
I am in the process of switching to the Grove aluminum gear. It will keep me from having another broken fiberglass gear, but it is quite a bit heavier than the gear it is replacing. The weights listed are probably not that accurate, but what I got on a digital bathroom scale. Weighed holding gear and without, then did the math.
Old gear from first kit which was replaced with stronger version (and with carbon wraps added on legs):15.3 Lbs
Grove gear with brackets: 28.4 Lbs
That's 13.1 more pounds aft of the CG. Oh well, there goes most of my baggage allowance.
