If  your engine has a data plate you can go to http://www.genuinecontinental.aero/ and register for customer support. If your engine is still listed under a previous owner you will need to call but they are very helpful. Once you are registered you have online access to the current SIL's and SB's applicable to your engine. Look at the current revision of SIL 99, "CURRENT LISTING OF SEALANTS, LUBRICANTS, & ADHESIVES AUTHORIZED BY TCM.". There may be thousands of compounds and techniques that work but for things like this I see no advantage to deviating from OEM recommendations.
