We flew into Delano, CA (KDLO) a few years back. There's a powerful
Voice of America antenna array there. (Or was at the time. Have they
gone all Internet yet, like the BBC?) The intermodulation on the King
COM's was terrible on down wind.
Anyway, the induced signal voltage blew out my homemade transducer for
our Digi-tac.

Anyway, don't fly in dry snow if you can avoid it. In a plastic
airplane like a
Glasair the static charge buildup can fry some really expensive
avionics. Yep...your
light emitting diodes become dark emitting diodes. DED's. Don't ask how
I know.
..and it can re-boot your EFIS in IMC, too.
