Hi,

Myself and a partner (or two) are looking into taking the plunge on a Pulsar II with about 100 hrs on it (Apparently its been sitting for the last 10 years, and only started flying a year ago). Condition inspection has been brought up to airworthy, however some of the weights/speeds/climbs aren't quite what i'm used to seeing, and am in hopes that somebody can clarify what I'm finding here.

I'm being told cruise will be around 115mph with a Jabiru 2200 motor, on 4-4.5gph.

Climb = 700fpm (seems low?)
Gross = 1200lbs - can this be bumped up to 1300?
I'm also reading that wheel pants from a RV12 (at least the nose) will improve performance a bit.

What other questions should I be asking this seller particular to the Pulsar aircraft? Both myself and the airplane are in NC, in case anybody knows the plane/seller.

Thanks!

I own a Pulsar III which was put in service on March 15 2012. I have a Jabiru 2200 with a ground adjustable Sensenich prop. I am experiencing 140 at 2950 rpm at about 4-4.5/hr.  I think that when the airplane  is registered ar a certain weight that is it. I am at max 1250 and have not had any trouble at gross. Two people at 230+ and full fuel. It is cramped, no doubt, but manageable. If you would like more info you can email me at lwheat2083(at)gmail.com (lwheat2083(at)gmail.com) and I also have some videos on You Tube of some test flight. Look for Pulsar III test flights.
