I find myself stuck (again) and cant' decide on how to proceed. 



I'm working on wiring an overhead switch panel with about 10 switches. The space is rather tight. Because of that, I had to use some switches with really small bodies to fit in the area behind the panel. The only connection types are solder lugs. 



So now I've got to decide on how to wire them. I could solder the wires to the switches and run the wires directly to the mags, starter, master, etc. 



Or I could put in male/female faston connectors or knife connectors. 



I feel like hard wiring a switch directly to the controlled device is a bad idea since trying to solder a new switch in that position doesn't look like any fun. 



But what's the likelyhood of a switch failure? If it's not likely, then maybe it's not a bad idea. One of my thoughts during this build has been ease of service. But there's a point of diminishing returns that has to be considered.

Or you could use the machined pins for the DB 25 and mate them directly with some shrink tubing over them and go without using the body of the connector.
