When I got my 3300 part of the firewall forward kit. It had a plastic type catch bottle. The heat from inside the cowl has caused it to deform a little bit. Was wonder what you might be using. I like the almost clear bottle as I can see the amount of over flow. This bottle has a hole it the top that leaks a little oil that runs down the bottle then onto the drain hose. So I find small drops of oil on the engine frame work. I'm thinking of blocking this hole. Any comments? On another note I thought I read to place the bottle about oil level, but can't find it now. I'm at 40 hours and use about 4 oz per hour.

Some guys in Australia have devised an oil catcher which sits on top
of the engine, in that oil breather line.

It catches the oil normally blown out and returns it to the engine, so
you are using only what you burn (not what gets blown out).

I have one on my 2200, using PVC pipe fittings and Scotchbrite
stainless steel pan scourer inside.

And I run the oil pretty much at the bottom of the dipstick, as before
the catcher, any more would end up in the oil bottle.

Jab recommended running the level at the add mark on the early shallow sump engines. I used a punch to drive the dip stick down into the cap the distance between full and add. Now the full mark is .2 qts less volume. G. Aman mk-3c jabiru 2200a 900 hrs

I think you are referring to the MotionAero separator. I have one on my
Jabiru 3300 engine, very happy with it.

See: http://motionaero.com/Products-Oil_Separator.html

I too installed the Motion Aero separator on my 3300 and have no oil
dripping out of the vent tube. It is a very nice unit.
