Thanks, Buz and Helmut!

Helmut, if you could mail or post the address of Steve Beile so I can
ask him what the trouble was.

Hi Group,

I seem to remember that somebody made upper to lower cowling fasteners
out of piano hinges instead of Camlocks.

If you have a link or the Newsletter number please answer here.
If you have pics please mail them to my email address, since for unknown
reasons I can`t see the pics in this forum.

Thanks!
Gerd

Hi Gerd,
I don't recall a Lightning that used piano hinges for the cowl, at
least not while I was writing the newsletters. However all the Jabiru's have

that set up so it should be easy to do.
Blue Skies,
Buz

Hi Buz & Gerd,
Steve Beile fitted piano hinges to his upper cowl o
n his current lightning. (featured in one of the news letters) He is buildin
g another Lightning and is going back to cam locks as the piano hinges are n
ot that successful .
I am just completing another lightning and the engine I am using is a Camit e
ngine which I have fitted with electronic fuel injection and spark control.
Cheers Helmut
