use it if you want or save
There is a small hole in the front of
the Carby.
It should be in about the
7 o'clock position. IT looks like a
brass plug
but should actually have a
tiny hole in it. What it does is
supply air to
the idle circuit. If it
becomes plugged the Idle fuel flow
will increase
about 3 times its normal
amount. IT will also cause the engine
to fly rich
even with the jet needle
set two notches too lean and the idle
screw
locked in tight.. Because the
hole is near the bottom of the
carb it is
susceptible to debris build up
and moisture contamination. You
may need
to remove the carb and poke a
wire in to push out the crud.
While you
have it apart , also check that
the Idle jet mixer cross vent
holes are
also clear. Blow through the holes
to make sure all is good.
Also Note
the Jet needle clip position for
future ref.
