Rob

The E-mag I am going to be using is made by Rotec in Australia.
It uses about 3.5 amps at cruise RPM's.

The Jabiru Mags need about 300 RPM to fire so if your battery is weak, oil is cold and thick, and the fuel doesn't want to vaporize it makes for a bad morning. We are only talking about 55 to 65 degrees. The Rotec mag will allow propping the engine so it's a win win situation.

Bobby,

The Rotec mag will *not* allow you to hand prop the engine, and in fact it would be downright dangerous to try. The ignition is fixed at 20 degrees BTDC, an attempt to hand prop would cause a kickback and might take your fingers. I know Paul from Rotec advertizes that it can be done, I dare him to put his attempt on Youtube.
