What we do know is the engines start much better, idle better, feel like they accelerate better and seem to run more smoothly. The wires are not twisted metal core (the conductor) like the original wires were, insulated by old fashioned, plain rubber which invariably deteriorates over time. Especially with an engine that shows evidence of a lot of leaking oil. That oil weeps through the pours in the braided plug wire shields, bathing the spark plug wire(s) in oil. Especially on the lower 4 cylinders.  Once the old wires start deteriorating, they start cracking inside the braided shielding. Then they arc to the shield, which of course, is ground. Once they start arcing that cylinder and the engine will begin to run rough. The only way to fix the problem is to pull a new wire through the wiring harness. Definitely not an fun task. Especially when the old wire separates from the new wire inside the ring while you're pulling the wire through the harness.

What prevents the wires from shorting out is (in the case of the wire sets that come in my kit), two layers of high temperature silicone wrapped around the core. These are just like the spark plug wires used on an automotive engine.

The bottom line is, the wiring harnesses on the M14, Huosai and their derivatives is the "Achilles heal" of the engine.

Question: How much better does the M14-P run with automotive plugs and wires? What prevents the wires from sorting to each other? Is there a significant weight savings?
Thank you!
