Hi Guys

Now that we are into our 9aQB fuselage build - a question (probably first of many):-

The 'Brake reservoir' is mounted on the right side, this area is (from what I can see) a 'busy' area, Odyssey battery, contactors, through bulkhead wire feed-through etc - is there any problem/issue in mounting the reservoir on the left side.

The new model Matco brake valve (model PVPV-D) we had from'Van's' has the plumbing feeds according to the instructions going initially to the left brakes peddles.

Was the right side mounting choice for the reservoir (from the plans) due to the larger 'concord' battery being left side mounted.

Regards

John

John, personally, I can see no reason why it would make any difference. But you may try to plan ahead and think about what you will end up with. On my firewall, I have more room on my right side than left. Glenn

Shouldn't be an issue, as long as you can keep the supply run 'downhill' to the master cylinders. I'm building a tipup -7, and plan to mount mine in the cockpit on the bulkhead that supports the canopy hinges. With a tipup canopy, it's accessible when the canopy is open. One less hole in the firewall (actually 3, with mounting) and still invisible to passengers. Just a little extra care required when checking/filling.
FWIW...
