Ralph,

I installed it with my MX-20. I've since reworked my panel and replaced it with a 796 in an AirGizmo dock. But I've still got some pictures of the settings. The relevant ones are:

Misc Setup: GDL 90 UAT Radio = Disp Only, GDL 90 Code Edit = Enabled
External Data Sources: UAT Traffic/Data Link Source = Port 4 (for me)
Enable/Disable Function: Traffic = Enabled, FIS Data Link = Enabled

Also make sure you set the Broadcast ICAO Address. I don’t know which screen in setup. It’s the 8 digit hex-looking Mode-S code that translates to your N-number. For whatever reason I put my N-number in it and fought an error message for a while.

I got traffic and Metars on the MX-20 but only traffic on the 430W. I’m very disappointed with the display on the 430W. Since Garmin doesn’t play nice with others Navworx can only feed it traffic and you don’t get all the capability of the 430W that it has with say a GDL-88. I love the display on the 796 but unfortunately Navworx doesn’t support it either, again because Garmin doesn’t play nice and they haven’t reverse engineered it. So I’m feeding it from a GDL-39 works well despite being totally separate.

Good luck. If needed I can send the pics of the setup screens.

Greg Young
