I am doing my Appendix E Final Inspection and wanted to see if I could get some input from those who have gone before on some of the items and my findings.

Angle of incidence: I have done a modified hi-top mod so the port door recess is not good for a waterline determination. I could use the flat between the head rests but it may not be that dependable. Any suggestions on establishing the waterline? By using the flat between headrests, I get the angle of incidence of positive 2.7 deg...but importantly, both wings are the same. For measurement, I can't use the root area right next to the fuselage because it has the wing to fuselage fairing somewhat changing the wing form so I measured the angle at 5 and 10 inches out from the fuselage.

Tailplanes and anti-servo/trim tabs: My fuselage to tailplane fairings are not that perfectly equal side to side so I have had to use a compromise position to set the tailplanes at neutral. OK, that being said, two issues. My trim tabs are 1 deg different, port side being the lower . That will not be hard to fix as I can carefully, slightly bend the actuating fork to correct this (doesn't have to be much)...much easier than removing and replacing the trim tab metal drive pin location. Next, I get trim tabs full travel of up 7.4 deg and down 6.3 deg (6 deg req). I assume this not a problem. Important to note that this tab full high to low range will stay the same but the separate up and down deflections can vary depending on where neutral is set for the tailplane.

Rudder travel: I get 30 deg rudder travel (min required) but the last couple degrees doesn't have a lot of purchase force so in the air stream in flight it will likely not be able to attain that deflection...maybe 25-27 deg.

Trim tab servo isolation: I don't have this capability quickly. How would one accomplish this? Just put a switch in the line?

Fuel filter spring: What is this, I don't know what a fuel filter spring is?
Thanks for input.
