Thanks all, we've had a pretty busy streak for over a year now, not slowing down much from finishing the RV 14, and then rolling right into all sorts of flight training. We haven't really even done any vacations to speak of even for this time period. But now Danielle is flying, and it's time to start slowing down a little and enjoying the time. We're about to head out on a vacation where she can do a whole lot of the piloting. Between her and Andrea, I don't know that I'll even have a chance to fly the airplane. Not that I'd be disappointed in that, because I really enjoy seeing someone else learn and become competent.
The local newspaper decided to do the article, but I'm really surprised, I didn't realize that it would be picked up on the AP by any other news outlets. That really surprised me. There is one thing else coming down the road that should be interesting, and that is I believe there may be a similar article in the magazine "Aviation for girls", which is put out by the women in aviation organization. I really believe that one of the biggest problems that we face as pilots is a lack of new pilot starts coming into our activity. So I will do anything I can to show that Aviation is fun. What makes it even more fun is that it is a girl doing this. Maybe that sound sexist, but we need everybody to think that they may enjoy flying airplanes, not just men like 95% of us. I really think that the biggest problem that we face in getting new pilots is a lack of passion, of course along with the lack of money, but I think we can fix the passion part easy enough. We just need to get people to put down their phones, tablets, and game consoles long enough to go out and see what is in the world.
