Hi Chris,
Sorry for the delay in answering you, I hope you have received replies already to help you. I was wondering where you are located and which model you are building?
To your point…..when I did my“top on” procedure, I first fitted the top on and drilled and installed a large number of clecos, every three to four inches. When I was satisfied that the match up was good, I removed all the clecos and sat down and applied a thin film of grease to prevent them from bonding to the fuselage during the process. I then enlisted the help of two other people. I prepared three separate batches of Araldite Epibond 420A/B adhesive with enough flox to make a stiff, non runny mix and a smaller batch without flox. I had a friend that is good at detail painting brush the mix without the flox onto both halves of the seam to insure good bonding coverage. We then each mixed their batch of premeasured 420 with floxand went about buttering both sides of the seam all around. Then with someone on each side of the top, we spread the sides apart and set it into place. I installed all the clecos and then went about removing all of the 420 that got squeezed out. I had previously in my build installed a cleat of each side of the interior of the fuselage behind the“D” window that would support a shelf I built. This allowed me to get into the rear of the fuselage and scrape away the 420 that got squeezed out in there. Also my inspection window just forward of the tail was made 6”round, so I could reach in and scrapeaway the 420 that I could reach from there. When satisfied, I left it for 24 hours and then removed and cleaned all the clecos. As life happens, I was then able to leave it for a 10 day period due to work. When I came back to it, I got inside with a sander and smoothed and roughened the seam inside the fuselage. I then applied a single layer of 2” fiberglass tape (Aircraft Spruce #01-06600) along the inside seam everywhere I could reach. This is bidirectional fiberglass that runs along the seam and at 90 degrees to it. After I measured and cut all the pieces I needed for the rear fuselage, I wet out each piece on some stiff plastic and I had an assistant pass them to me while I was stretched out on my shelf in the back. I added pieces everywhere it could go along the seam. I feel this is more than adequate for the extra seam strength I wanted.

Does anyone know what material (glass cloth, number of layers, resin type) is used in the bonding joggles in the fuselage halves and where the wing upper skin bonds to the wing structure?
I'm doing some pondering on joint strength, adhesive used, etc.

Thanks for the explanation Mike. It makes sense. I like the explanation about how to get in there and scrape excess epoxy 
In any case, I think that my original question was not clear enough. I was asking about the specific material used to mold the fuselage and wing (pre-preg). I wanted to know the glass type, number of layers and epoxy used in case anyone knew. I may have to do a few repairs in my kit and need that info to design a repair.
