Dragged my poor ole slingshot out oh hanger yesterday. Had left knee replaced three weeks ago. Gotta be careful. Got in and gave her a good run up to heat the oil and such. Felt good. Gotta replace some gas filters and old gas and weather permitting i will flap my wings and pretend im a bird again. Been over a month. Congrats on your shinny new looking firefly. That 277 really looks small. Have fun. Ted Cowan. Sling shot 912 ul zoom zoom

Finished painting the Firefly today, put it together, and was hoping to fly it,
but then the front started moving in, the wind came up, and having to land with
a stiff tailwind seemed like not a good idea. So we took some pictures and
put it away. All we have left to do is add the VG's, and some home made strobes
that ought to weigh less than 5 ounces. (I'll do a separate post on that after
it is done) Best of all, we are still within legal specs for Part 103 - WOOT!
Here are the pictures.

Not easy to come under the weight limit. I could never accomplish that.

Thanks Ted! (Get well soon!) Guess what? The 277 IS small! When you line it up on the runway and feed in the power, it feels nothing like the MKIII/582, it just sort of bumbles along and gradually picks up speed, but then it pops off the ground and climbs at about 900' a minute, and I am like "How is this even possible?" It is very similar, and very different all at the same time. I have maybe 6 hours in it so far, looking forward to learning about it. Also, now I need to order some StolSpeed VG's for it. I'll take all the help I can get...
