Hi all
I've recently ordered a replacement compressor for my standard Yak-52. The original compressor has suffered a failure, and broken the shear coupling. The replacement compressor arrived without a shear coupling, so I'd like to refurbish the existing one.
Does anyone know if there is a Western equivalent for the fasteners between the two segments of the coupling?
Thanks
Mike

Mike The shear coupling is a separate part with its own part number. To my knowledge there are no US shear pin equivalents. Some have used a 10 penny nail to replace the shear pin.
I would not recommend that because an engine kick back (back lash) could damage the compressor and the accessory shaft spline gears.

Contact www.M-14O.com. They provided a shear coupling when I needed one a few months ago.
