Does anyone know how hot it gets on the engine side of the firewall?

Can't say the exact temperature but it is definitely hotter after shutdown than while in flight. The first thing I do after engine shutdown is open the oil check door and place an exhausting fan over the hole.

It gets about 50 degrees warmer than OAT consistently. I know this because I have a temperature probe right next to the firewall between the carbs.

Barry,

Thanks, exactly what I am looking for.  I hoped someone put a temp
sensor inside the cowl.

Best Regards, Bill
