Steve, congratulations are for Rick and his test pilot. I'm just enjoying the flight vicariously a thousand miles to the west. Cheers, Ken

Subject: Pietenpol-List: NX478RS first flight

Well fellow Pieters today was the day. The first flight of NX478RS occurred today at about 12:45 without any problems. For years I told everyone who asked, that it would fly "Friday" - just never what week, or year. Well I only missed it by a day. Here are some shots of the occasion. The first flight was done by a good friend of mine who also works for the FAA. So everyting had to be done right.

Ray! Good to see your name here again. Scott Liefeld got your Scout in the air and is now working on suppressing the ignition noise so he can use a radio. You sure did build a nice one!

Oscar,

Thanks, Scout went to a very nice home and will be well cared for. Scott plans on teaching my grandson how to fly her....sometime!

Thanks for your friendship and advice during my build. You are a great help to everyone.

Still making those hinges?
