Ok Jim, went for a local flight today around Banks Peninsula (Google) then over the Canterbury Plains back to Rangiora. Landed at a 600m strip to see an old friend. Hot temperatures for Canterbury so a little thermal turbulence. Cuppa at the:

Club rooms, a bit of gossip, then back to hangar to secure probably my SkyEcho ADS-B unit which came adrift during some easterly sea breeze turbulence over the peninsula. Also re glued one of my DL07 door shoot bolt guides that had become detached, thanks to inspecting them yesterday.
Off for a bigger flight next week to the North Island.
Cheers,
Tim

Work continues on the panel upgrade. Finished the wiring harness and powered up the G5 and GPS175.

No smoke which is always a good sign. However, it appear that the G5 isn’t seeing the GAD29 (ARINC 429) as it is grayed out on the setup page. So, the G5 and GPS175 aren’t communicating.

Funny thing is, I am not getting any errors on the CAN bus. The GAD29 has a flashing green light which means it is communicating with the G5 on the CAN bus.

Any suggestions as to what the issue is or a fix are welcome.

Got my new engine installed and started. So far so good.

I added an MGL Vega EMS-1 with dual EGT and CHT and it has the ability to use the new electronic oil pressure so it is nice addition to my simple panel.

Finishing installing the cold air plenum now and hope to be back in the air next weekend or shortly after.

Went to the airport so Finn could run in the snow. Not much chance for flying!
