				Try to salvage or toss? 
   
  It's soaking in solvent, but a cruddy, corroded  mess. Arm is  free.

 The arm could be stuck.  Take your gauge out. Then move the arm up and down. 
 If your fuel gauge moves  then your arm was probably stuck or the short is on 
 the sender side. If the  gauge doesn't move when you move the arm then your 
 short is on the gauge  side. If you replace the gauge then go with one with 
 numbers near 30-250ohm.  I forget the exact numbers but those are real close.

				I have an aluminum tank so the fuel guage is a very important insturment to 
 me. I'd put a new one  in in a second. Looks like you got your money's worth 
 on that one. But you still need to see what your problem was so does the 
 fuel guage move when you move the arm?

				Not at hangar now so can't check gauge. As far as the moneys-worth, I've had 
 less than  10 hours in the air, and maybe two or three of those enjoyable. 
 The rest of the time since mid-May acquisition has been repairing,  rigging, 
 finding and waiting for  parts and resurrecting the dead with email insight 
 from Kolbers, for which I am grateful.  Every day something shows that needs 
 reviving or replacing. Wish I knew more about the history of this machine.
 
 This morning early, with left door removed, I was able to work in the 
 direction of  my earlier art photo aerials. Starting with some oblique of 
 the lake and got into near- vertical land art  as the eye found  it and the 
 ongoing rigging of the MKIII made it more comfortable  to fly. Think this 
 jpg is small enough to be acceptable  to the list.

				I have a fuel gauge that doesn't even go in the tank , and it works great.
 
   It's called the miZer  ( Jack Hart has it too )
 
  It tells me how much fuel is left ( in gals ) and it tells me "fuel Flow"
  it has an alarm that you can set , But "I" couldn't hear it until I landed
 
   It has a Stainless Steel Turbine on Jeweled bearings that goes inline on your fuel line ( as long as you don't have a "return line" to the tank )
  it has been VERY accurate....But it's 300 bucks ( Aircraft Spruce )
 
   Just thought you might want to know.....

				If you are interested in the Fuel Mizer, it can be bought from many 
 boat and marine stores or online boat  suppliers for less than 1/2 the 
 Aircraft Spruce price quoted.
