HI;

Would appreciate some ideas, concerning the Liability Insurance, for the
RV6A
I know there are no many companies these days.
The idea is which compnay, reliable one, would have best rates?

Any thing under $1,200...

Thanks

There is no such thing as best rates. You should have liability insurance
IMO. Rates vary with your recent experience in like type. It is very
uncompetitive. You go with what ever you can live with as far as their
qualifying conditions dictate. That is what I found six months ago. I am
not unhappy in saying this. It is just the way it is. I flew the first 40
hours without insurance because I would not spend a small fortune to meet
their qualifying conditions. I flew carefully when good conditions were
present. My first flights were from a remote airport with lots of farm
ground around it. And flat terrain. I did not fly into Oshkosh, for
example. Anything we can do to minimize chances of filing a claim reduces
everyone's cost as I see it. From my perspective the cost of insurance
seems higher than it should be. However, The insurance companies know their
costs in writing coverage and I do not. Too many lawyers is part of the
problem maybe. But that is the way it is. So, Fly safe. do not archive.

Bert:

There are not that many companies writting insurance for experimentals. My
recommendation is get quotes and compare. I use NationAir. If you do not
like them, try Falcon. I forget exactly what I pay but I think it is very
reasonable for the $1 Million US / $100K per person that I pay. Yes I am
tailwheel and have lots of tailwheel time. I find the somewhere between
$307 and $311 that I pay cheap. I pay almost 4 times that to have full
coverage on my California licensed 2003 GMC Sonoma and do not have anything
near the liability coverage that my airplane has.
