Anybody see any problem with riveting the platenuts to just the floor
ribs & just the bulkhead, instead of riveting through the floor &
rib/bulkhead into the platenut? The screws will still hold the edges of
the outer floor panels when the center floor panel & the back wall are
screwed in.

To me it looks like a minimal loss in strength (if any) & a lot less
trouble if the floor ever needs to come up.

Thanks,

Charlie

Don't you still have all the pop rivets holding the floor down?

Yes, but drilling out pops & 'repopping' isn't anywhere near as time
consuming is drilling out 2 rivets for each nut plate & then resqueezing
2 rivets for each nut plate if the floors come out.

For what it's worth, make sure you put at least one of the corrugated
conduit runs in on each side of the tunnel under the baggage floors -
having to do this was the reason I had to remove the floors and replace
them.
