I used to own a Debonair. Mechanic said new throttle cable was needed due to covering being nicked Sad

From Beech about $650! From some dealer about $350. As I was also building an experimental Vans RV6a, I looked in my Aircraft Spruce catalog and found a cable that looked like a match for about $68.00! I called and found out that it is used on Beech but this one would come without paperwork. Made by Cablecraft. Oredered from dealer and when it came it was same numbers and made by Cablecraft.

Call it the exhorbitant price of the standard type certificate.

A better push switch can be obtained from any tractor dealer like John Deere. They are subjected to worse vibration than an aeroplane.

The cover of a push pull cable can be revived by shrinking on electrical heat shrink tubing. The friction and stiction can be eliminated by removing the ball end joint, clamping on a hose, then pressurizing the core with a pressure pot and Mil 5606 oil.

I'm sure you are right, Jim, but now you have an experimental aircraft! At least, not a legal one.
