I am now to the point where I plan to cut out the solid portion between the bottom and middle lightning holes to provide better access inside the towers.  I plan to fab a cover plate to go over this area using plate nuts and ss #8 screws.



If you have opened this area up, or if you have done any engineering analysis of this mod (Van�s has not done any analysis) please let me hear from you, both good and bad.
