Everyone:
I have two problems one of you may be able to help me with.

Problem 1) I need to do the weight & balance on my RV-6 and I haven't
found a set of scales, yet. Does anyone know where I can borrow a
airplane scale in the Goldsboro, NC area?
Problem 2) I have an engine that is not running well. I have test run my
XP-360 twice, and both times it has run very rough at idle. It will quit
when I pull the throttle back below 1000 RPM. I have a constant speed
propeller, Airflow Performance fuel injection, Lightspeed Electronic
Ignition, and an impulse coupled mag on the left side. Its a brand new
engine built by Aerosport Power. When it starts, it has a puff of black
smoke and it sounds like its backfiring or something when it runs (loud
popping sounds). Runs about the same on the mag as the Lightspeed - but
fewer "popping" sounds on the Lightspeed. I am not very smart on
engines, so I'm not good at diagnosing the problem here. My going in
theory is that the Airflow Performance idle mixture adjustment is set
too rich - does this sound right for my symptoms?

Thanks if anyone can help - I sure appreciate it. I am about to deploy
to Southwest Asia for a few months, so I would really like to get this
airplane flying before I go!!

I can find some scales if you want to drive to Lake Norman, north of Charlotte.

Sorry can't help on the engine, I'm carburated.
