				Gents:

This is the oil developed by Shell & Rotax for use in Rotax 4-cycle engines. It's semi-synthetic so it can be used with both MoGas & AvGas.

If you can get it, why use anything else?

 Best regards,
 Bob Borger

Not exactly. There is a list of recommended oil brands and types. It isn't just any 4-cycle motorcycle oil. It has to be non-foaming, with the correct gear lube properties, etc.
AeroShell Sport Plus 4 is made specifically for the Rotax 9xx engines and is the primary, #1, top-of-the-list oil recommendation. Why not use it?

One reason could be : because it’s the most expensive on the French market. I used it initially but changed for Yacco AVX 500 4T  which is 15% less expensive and also highly recommended by Ratox.

I suspect motorcycle oil is probably now difficient in ZDDP (anti scuff agent needed if the valve gear, dog clutch etc is to survive), but apparently now depleted because it poisons catalytic converters. Yes, some bikes do have those (eg BMW).
ZDDP is certainly depleted in modern car oil and it's possible (for use with older engines) to buy the stuff separately as an additive.

I started with good quality m/c oil but gave it up because the dog clutch used to screech (you here that alot on shutdown of many Rotaxes). That issue dissappeared as soon as I used the Shell Rotax stuff.
