Hi Group,



I seem to remember that somebody made upper to lower cowling fasteners 

out of piano hinges instead of Camlocks.



If you have a link or the Newsletter number  please answer here.

If you have pics please mail them to my email address, since for unknown 

reasons I can`t see the pics in this forum.

Hi Gerd,

     I don't recall a Lightning that used piano hinges  for the cowl, at least not while I was writing the newsletters.  However  all the Jabiru's have that set up so it should be easy to do.

Hi Buz & Gerd,

                         Steve Beile fitted piano hinges to his upper cowl on his current lightning. (featured in one of the news letters) He is building another Lightning and is going back to cam locks as the piano hinges are not that successful .

I am just completing another lightning and the engine I am using is a Camit engine which I have fitted with electronic fuel injection and spark control.

  Would you be kind enough to send me some information about your new Lightning for the newsletter.  Maybe a picture or two and a paragraph about the build and the Camit engine?  If it doesn't get into this newsletter, maybe it can make it in the next one.
