Ladies and Gents.Recently I had the opportunity to swing by the factory in Redmond.  It was quite an experience, and I simply can not let the opportunity pass to share the highlights with you all.  They really rolled out the red carpet for my visit.
First off, I met Kim Lorentzen.  Most of you likely already know her name, if you've done much business with Lancair.  She's been there 25 years and knows this business front to back.  It was a pleasure to spend the day with her.  She took lots of time to show me around.  I got to visit the avionics shop, engine shop, builders assistance floor, speak to the tech reps, and machine shop; but my favorite was the composite shop.  The whole tour was just fabulous.
I spent the end of the day over at RDD.  It was a treat to be able to speak with Mark Menkhe there.  The knowledge level here is simple stellar.  These are resources we should all make use of.  I was so impressed, I plan to return to Redmond for the annual Lancair fly-in in the fall.
I'd like to express a giant THANK YOU to all the good people at Lancair.  I'm a bigger fan now, than I've ever been.
