New to the list, really like the Twin Commanders, joined the TCFG and always browse the “for sale” ads. There is a project 690E on trade-a-plane. Anyone know the history behind this plane (S/N 680E-669-1)? This plane has been available for a very long time so what's the scoop?

Hello Kirk,

N6263B is s/n 680E-669-11 and was first Certificated in October 1958.
For some 30 years, March 1977 to July 2007, it was owned by Aero-Metric Inc., of Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
It was used for aerial survey work and had a Zeiss, then a Jena, camera installed.

It was sold to the current Registered owner, CBM Holdings II LLC., of Harvard, Illinois.
They were previously located in Milwakee, Wisconsin so I presume they placed the advert in Trade-A-Plane.

I’m not qualified to give an opinion on whether it will be a good purchase.
But as it was 30 years with one owner who would probably have looked after it well, it might be worth further investigation?
Aero-Metric have operated a number of Commanders over the years and still have a 500S Shrike.

Best Regards,
Barry Collman
