Hi,

I have installed the electric trim kit on my 701 elevator. When I move
the tab +30 to -30 degrees from center, the tab/hinge binds at about
center of travel (neutral trim). I can see the skin oilcan slightly at
the binding point and the tab itself curves at one extreme but is flat
at the other extreme.

I do not want the binding because it would load the servo more than is
necessary. Has anyone had any experience with something like this or
have any suggestions?

Thanks

Chuck Kyle

Chuck,

It sounds like either the hinge pin is bent or one or both of the hinge
halves is bent or installed in a "curve". You may need to lay a straight
edge along the length of the parts to check for straighness. Also disconnect
the input rod and operate the tab by hand. See what you find.
