I have a NavWorx ADS600-B, Garmin 530W, with traffic and weather displaying on an AFS-4500s and 3500s. I see the traffic and wx. displayed. However, when I send in and receive back an FAA Operation Compliance Report, I get some red boxes with a note that the ADS-B Out “fails to meet the corresponding performance requirement”.
The local avionics guy (in S.D.) says that all the ADS-B towers aren’t working, or the antenna is not adequate, or, or.
I’ll be down in Mesa, AZ the next two plus weeks and am wondering if there is anyone down in that area that can be recommended to sleuth this out or offer some direction.
Thanks.

I don't buy the avionics guy explanation. My understanding is the red boxes tells you your signal was received but in a wrong format. Recommend first checking the 530W for proper serial out configuration - and that you have the needed software update.
Just worked this problem on a 430W. The required GPS serial out configuration selection for the transponder in use was "ADS-B +" but this was not an option on the 430W configuration menu. Looking over the latest 430W install manual I found a note saying that software rev 5.0 or later is required. Did the update and now all is well.

Make sure you are running the very latest software on the ADS600B.
The 2020 compliance won't show until you get on the latest software.

I have the same issue with mine. Bill muffin told me that it needed an upgrade that will cost less and less as the time gets near. So I am holding off.

This is a software upgrade, not hardware. yes, before he said it would
cost less and less.
Then they ended up doing it in software. So now you need to use the current
software, and you should likely not need any hardware upgrade anymore.
Call him.

Mine is working fine now, with all green FAA report cards! Latest software from Bill and all is ok. Mine has been flawless for 6 weeks now and I love the traffic alerts!
Reminder that with this system, if you squawk 1200, it will NOT send out your registration information, but you still get all the traffic, etc.
Any code besides 1200 will include your registration information.

Tim is right. Almost all the problems are either lacking the latest
software update or a setup configuration problem. Garmin had a problem
with the communications protocol between transponder and GPS. When they
fixed it, they changed the name of the protocol, so a software update is
needed to use the datastream from the Garmin. Somewhere between 20-40%
of ADSB installs by avionics shops also get offending reports, so don't
feel bad.

Carl made a good point...not only do you need latest software in the
ADS-B box, but the Garmin needs the latest revision, whether a 400,500,
600 or 700 series. Otherwise the Garmin won't have the correct data
blocks either.

Thanks guys.
I had sent the unit in a while ago for updates but I am not sure how long ago and if it is the last of the needed update. I will follow up with Bill Moffit.
Do not archive.
