Hey guys,
I'm converting the nitrogen dump/purge valve that is under the nose hood to a nitrogen shut off valve, to isolate the nitrogen tanks from the rest of the system. Age old problem of leak down on long trips.
Looks to be an easy conversion except I need some metric fittings.......straight, 45, and 90 degree fittings with M10, 27 pitch tapered thread (pipe thread) and M12, 24 pitch flare (37 degree best I can measure). Need two of the 90 degree fitting and 1 of the other fittings. Hole is 4 mm.
Anyone have any of these fittings or know where they can be sourced?
Thanks
Anthony

Hi Anthony

I did this years ago and been very happy since.  Never had any problems with it.  It opens up away flights as well, as you can fly there, close valve, and have enough for return trip.  Just don’t forget to open it J

You might try Yak owners as well – some of the air fittings used on the Yaks are the same as L29 – this should make it easier for you to find stuff, lots more Yaks around.

Do you use your oxygen system?

Regards Jorgen

Hi Jorgen,
Good to hear from you.
After going to a 3 day show and having to top off on the second day I decided to make the change. I have a gentleman in Czech looking for the fittings also. I thought since a lot of the L29 owners have done this they might have part numbers for the fittings and a source or some spare fittings. I'll check with the YAK owners too to see what they have.
Yes, I use the oxygen system sometimes. Right now I don't want to convert them to nitrogen tanks, not just yet.
Best Regards
Anthony

Oh, by the way....know anyone who has the rubber bellows that covers the bottom of the control stick? Part number is XL 229.401-15. Part book calls it "Guard of the Control Stick". Would like to have 2 NOS pieces if they are available anywhere.
Thanks(at)!

The valve should also be replaced. Packing not heavy duty enough
Any ideas for a better valve?

No. What valve did you use? No one had ever mentioned replacing the valve. When Zach McNeil had his L29, it looked like he used the original valve. Only on I have seen.
