This is the third time I've tried to post this.
Annual inspection on a 22 year old Glasair. Found the lap belt fraying on the pilot's outboard side.

3770 hours total time.
I replaced it with a spare we had thru a funny, now fortuitous, mix up while building the plane.
I think the wear depends on who the seated person is and how much seat padding there is, because that influences the angle that the cloth pulls on the attach fitting. (That is, for my airplane partner, the bracket for her belts should be mounted more forward.)
