Ray,

In the beginning 21 years ago, I had to seal the rivets 2 or 3 times to get them to stop leaking Smile They are sneaky
In the last 6 years, I had to reseal my tanks and recoat them as the ethanol I believe extracted or softened some of the resin. You can call me if you want more details 321-626-4786
There are 2 issues....the sealant and the flexing of the wing over time will leak at the root.
1 - I used PRC Desoto 1750 for 16 years then had to recoat and rebuild some of the wing
2 - I used the same PRC 1750 after rebuild
So far so good...
3 - In my opinion, you MUST apply the standard fix with layers carbon and glass (last page of PDF) or it will always leak do to wing flexing in flight
In the last 6 years, I have not had any leaks after applying this leak fix.
I will NEVER (knowingly) use gas containing ethanol again, only ethanol free or 100 LL with the TCP additive. The repair of the wings is not fun Sad
Thanks

Any recommendations to seal the mounting screws that hold the tank end

WOW !
That is some fix.  I have not heard of any Pulsar III with leakage at the spare joint. Just XP’s. If the leak was at the spar joint it would be readily visible.
My leaks are strictly from the screws. So far, I believe the failure is from an insufficient amount of sealer applied to the heads of the screws.
Thank you for your input.

I understand now your just sealing the screw heads outside the tank. If you were sealing the end plate it might be best to use a sealant that will allow removal of the plate. One such sealant is PR 1428 B-2

Subject: Re: Pulsar-List Digest: 6 Msgs - 02/07/18

Thanks

Any recommendations to seal the mounting screws that hold the tank end
plates on to the tank?

Ray,
I use the same poly sulfide that I use in the end plate itself.

That is what I used originally, also Barry. That was 20 years ago. Not sure
what it was and probably not available anymore?

That was a smart idea. I would use those if I needed to remove the plates.
