I'm interested in the Pietenpol and would like to check one out and get a ride in one. Is there anyone in N.C. that would be able to accommodate me?
Thanks in advance.

Tom,

If no one chimes in about North Carolina, I can definitely recommend a place in South Carolina where you can get a flight.

P.F. Beck, a true Southern gentleman, lives in Barnwell SC. Mr. Google Maps says that it is 4+45 away from you. Not close, but well worth the drive. He has flown in excess of 300 people in his Piet and is happy to answer any questions.

Barnwell is also the venue for the Fall Corvair College every year. Here is a link to a discussion about the next Corvair College, coming up this November -

If you did come down and get a flight (there will be several Piets there, so you can ask lots of questions to lots of people (P.F., Don Harper, Keith Goff, Bob Lester). It would also give you a chance to see the Corvair engine and its use in a Piet. I don't know if you have made up your mind about what engine to use, but it would be an opportunity to research the Corvair and see if it is the engine for you. Here is a link to an EAA video about the Corvair College in Barnwell several years ago -

Best of luck on your search

Thanks, Terry - I will definitely keep him in mind. I haven't decided anything yet - heck, I don't even know how to fly yet.
