With Piet hubs and motorcycle wheels how do you install brakes?

What are you considering a "Piet Hub"?
Attached are pictures of how i made my hubs and the way the rotor attaches for the brakes

Mr Brown!
What a craftsman! Great looking work. A set of drawings would be nice. except for disc and bushing, I assume is built with4130? How thick ? How do you lace that? How do you determine spoke length?
Thanks
Glen

Nice pictures. I'm curious how the 'other side', so the attachment to the axle, brake caliper is done. Did you use a straight axle, or a Piper type undercarriage?

Thank you Glen, I do have some good help on the landing gear!

The center of the hub is 2", .188 wall 4130 tubing opened up on the ends for the bronze bushings.
The flanges are .125 4130 and the rotor is .125 SS.

Each flange has 20 holes so it will be laced to a 40 hole motorcycle rim.

There are a lot of factors that determine spoke length, you need to have your rims and finished hubs before you can start figuring that out (unless you are going to have someone lace the wheels for you- Buchanan's Spoke and Rim has done a lot of Piet wheels)
There are some good pictures of wheel lacing on the West Coast Piet site.

Gerrit-Jan
I am building the split axle gear. The axle will have a collar inboard and a nut outboard to hold the wheel in place. There will be a bracket welded to the gear leg to attach the caliper.

Hello Crew...been a LONG time!

Pictures of an alternative below. These are simple go-kart type drum/band brakes with my custom made hubs. Perhaps lighter than discs and calipers, but not as much stopping power. I used them not for stopping but more for roll control; say in and around fuel pits that may run slightly down hill.

I have 1000,s of pictures and some videos if you need more intel.

You guys have way to much talent. I appreciate all the info regarding brakes. I, have no talent or ability
to do that kind of engineering.
