Guys:  Aircraft Spruce and Sporty's Pilot Shop offer duplicate double 

cut ACS (and single cut) ignition keys to the ignition switches 

(ESA-510-2K-1) sold through Van's IF the key number is listed with ACS.  

I have 2 RV10's (one 9 years old and one 2 years old).  The new RV10 has 

a key # 809 which Aircraft Spruce says is not a legitimate # (has to be 

between 001-199).  Aircraft Spruce does not sell uncut blank keys any 

more.  If you run into a nonlisted key #, or just want a duplicate key 

made, you can order ACS double cut blanks for $5.00 from Van's (part 

number ES A510-2K KEY) and have any key cutter cut it for you.  I could 

not find any other source of double cut blank ACS keys for Van's 

ignition switches and could not find it on Van's parts list (had to go 

through Tech Support to get it).   Doc  N123CV & N784DC

I believe ACS has acquired the rights to all the GA key codes.  To order a duplicate key from ACS, you just have to tell them the code on your existing key and they’ll cut it for you from the numbers.  



I did this the other day for a spare key.



It’s a good idea to write that ignition key code in your logbook so you can order a replacement off the numbers.
