				On the standard Van's quadrant I received the  throttle is friction lock, not vernier and it will respond to you pushing  or pulling it as long as you don't have it locked down. The prop and  mixture are vernier. So I don't think this would stop you from formation  flying. Look at all the other RV's that fly formation and I think they  probably all have the same unit. I would agree you wouldn't probably want the  throttle to be vernier.
