After my last question about the Alodine solution I bought I took it back and got it replaced. The store personnel did not think anything could be wrong with it until the new bottle was a much different colour. In any case it works as advertised and simply applying it to a cleaned surface will result in an instant change of hue to a distinct yellow/gold. I applied it to a sample and the tried to remove it, after a several second heavy scrub with scotchbrite it was still easy to see the line between treated and untreated so it might not come off as easily as some claimed.

The maker claims a much improved corrosion resistance and it may have been enough but since I need some of the polyfiber epoxy primer anyway and the smallest kit will yield around two quarts I'll use that inside the new spars as well as the small areas that need touch-up on the airframe.

Thanks to all who sent opinion.
